Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Kheti Mantra mobile application ("App") operated by Kheti Mantra Pvt. Ltd.

By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.


1. 📱 App Overview

Kheti Mantra is a mobile app created for Nepali farmers to offer:

  • Forever free farming education
  • Problem submission and expert support
  • Agro service requests
  • Weather updates
  • E-commerce marketplace for buying and selling agricultural products

All services are provided in the Nepali language to ensure maximum accessibility.


2. 🔐 User Registration & Login

  • Users can easily create an account using their mobile number, name, and a 4-digit security PIN
  • For ease and security, you may also enable biometric login (fingerprint or face unlock)
  • We never ask for unnecessary personal details or documents
  • Additional information may be required for sellers in the e-commerce marketplace (bank details, address verification)

3. 🎓 Free Course Guarantee

  • All farming-related courses (videos and texts) provided through Kheti Mantra are 100% free for life
  • We strictly guarantee that we will never convert any course content into paid content — now or in the future
  • This is our permanent commitment to Nepali farmers

4. 🆘 Problem Submission and Support

Farmers can send their farming problems via:

  • 📷 Image

  • 📝 Text

  • 🎤 Audio message

  • Our team of experts strives to respond and help within 24 hours of receiving the query

  • Users will be notified once a response or solution is available


5. ☁️ Weather Data

  • We use a reliable Weather API to display current weather based on your device location
  • This helps farmers plan their agricultural activities effectively
  • We do not store your real-time location data — it is only used to show weather within the app

6. 🛡️ Data Privacy & Security

We take your privacy very seriously. Here's our commitment to keeping your data safe:

  • We never share your data with any third-party providers or advertising companies
  • Your personal information, problem submissions, and app activity are encrypted and securely stored
  • Payment information for e-commerce transactions is processed through secure payment gateways (eSewa, Khalti, etc.) and is not stored on our servers
  • You may delete your account and data at any time through the app settings

7. 🧪 Free Services

We provide additional free services like:

  • Soil and water testing (test results delivered to your location)
  • Agro insurance requests
  • Animal vaccination requests
  • Real-time weather tips and farming alerts

These services are offered with no hidden charges, and we aim to serve even the remotest parts of Nepal.


8. 🛒 E-Commerce Marketplace Terms

8.1 General Marketplace Rules

Kheti Mantra provides an e-commerce platform connecting farmers (sellers) with buyers across Nepal. By using the marketplace, you agree to the following:

8.2 For Sellers (Farmers)

Listing Products:

  • Sellers can list agricultural products including crops, vegetables, fruits, seeds, dairy products, and other farm produce
  • All product listings must include accurate descriptions, clear images, and fair pricing
  • Sellers must ensure products are fresh, safe, and meet basic quality standards
  • Misleading information, fake images, or misrepresentation is strictly prohibited

Order Fulfillment:

  • Sellers must fulfill orders within the agreed timeframe
  • Sellers are responsible for proper packaging to ensure products reach buyers in good condition
  • Sellers must coordinate with our logistics partners or arrange their own delivery as per order requirements

Seller Payments:

  • Payments for completed orders will be transferred to the seller's registered bank account or mobile wallet within 3-7 business days after successful delivery
  • Kheti Mantra may charge a nominal service fee (clearly disclosed) to maintain the platform
  • Sellers will receive detailed transaction reports through the app

Seller Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory
  • Respond to buyer queries within 24 hours
  • Honor the prices listed on the platform
  • Comply with all applicable agricultural and food safety regulations

8.3 For Buyers (Consumers)

Placing Orders:

  • Buyers can browse products and place orders directly through the app
  • All product availability and pricing information is provided by sellers
  • Buyers must provide accurate delivery address and contact information

Payment Methods:

  • 💳 Online Payment: Secure transactions via eSewa, Khalti, bank transfers, or other approved digital payment methods
  • 💵 Cash on Delivery (COD): Pay in cash when you receive your order

Online Payment Process:

  • Payment is processed through secure, third-party payment gateways
  • Your payment information is encrypted and never stored on our servers
  • Once payment is confirmed, your order is forwarded to the seller for processing

Cash on Delivery (COD) Process:

  • Select COD at checkout
  • Order is forwarded to the seller
  • Pay in cash upon receiving your products
  • COD is subject to availability in your area and seller acceptance

8.4 Order Cancellation Policy

Buyer Cancellation:

  • Buyers can cancel orders before the seller dispatches the products
  • To cancel: Go to "My Orders" → Select the order → Click "Cancel Order"
  • Cancellation requests must include a reason

For Online Payments:

  • If order is cancelled before dispatch, full refund will be processed within 5-7 business days
  • Refund will be credited to the original payment method

For COD Orders:

  • COD orders can be cancelled anytime before delivery without any charges
  • No refund processing needed as payment hasn't been made

Seller Cancellation:

  • Sellers may cancel orders in case of:
    • Product unavailability
    • Inability to deliver to the specified location
    • Force majeure events (natural disasters, etc.)
  • Buyers will be notified immediately
  • Full refund will be processed for online payments

Post-Dispatch Cancellation:

  • Once order is dispatched, cancellation may not be possible
  • Buyers can refuse delivery and initiate a return/refund process

8.5 Return and Refund Policy

Eligible Returns: Buyers can request returns in the following cases:

  • Products received are damaged or spoiled
  • Wrong items delivered
  • Products don't match the description
  • Quality issues (rotten, expired, contaminated)

Return Process:

  1. Contact support within 24 hours of delivery
  2. Provide clear photos/videos of the issue
  3. Submit return request through "My Orders" section
  4. Our team will review and approve eligible returns
  5. Products must be returned in original condition (where applicable)

Refund Process:

  • Once return is approved, refund will be initiated within 3-5 business days
  • For Online Payments: Refund credited to original payment method within 5-7 business days
  • For COD: Refund transferred to buyer's registered bank account or mobile wallet within 7-10 business days

Non-Refundable Items:

  • Products damaged due to buyer negligence after delivery
  • Items consumed or used after delivery
  • Returns requested after 24 hours without valid reason

Partial Refunds:

  • May be offered for minor quality issues
  • Decided on a case-by-case basis by our support team

8.6 Delivery Terms

  • Delivery timeframes vary based on seller location and buyer address
  • Estimated delivery time is shown at checkout
  • Delivery charges (if applicable) are clearly displayed before order confirmation
  • Buyers will receive order tracking information through app notifications
  • Buyers must be available to receive orders or designate someone to receive on their behalf

8.7 Disputes and Resolution

  • In case of disputes between buyers and sellers, Kheti Mantra will act as a neutral mediator
  • Both parties must provide relevant evidence (photos, communication records, etc.)
  • Kheti Mantra's decision in dispute resolution is final
  • We reserve the right to ban users who repeatedly violate marketplace policies

8.8 Prohibited Items

The following items cannot be sold on Kheti Mantra marketplace:

  • Illegal or banned substances
  • Counterfeit or stolen products
  • Products harmful to health or environment
  • Items prohibited under Nepali law
  • Any non-agricultural items without prior approval

9. 🏛️ Compliance with Store Policies

Kheti Mantra strictly follows:

  • Google Play Store Developer Policy
  • Apple App Store Guidelines
  • Payment Gateway Security Standards (PCI-DSS compliance)
  • Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) digital payment regulations

We ensure that the app is safe, non-abusive, and complies with all necessary digital privacy and commerce laws.


10. ❌ Account Deletion & Data Removal

You can delete your account and all your personal data at any time by:

  1. Going to the Settings section in the app
  2. Selecting "Delete Account"
  3. Confirming the deletion via your registered phone number

Important Notes:

  • Pending orders must be completed or cancelled before account deletion
  • Sellers must resolve all outstanding payments and disputes
  • Once deleted, your data will be permanently removed from our servers within 72 hours
  • Transaction history may be retained for legal and accounting purposes as required by law

11. 🚫 Prohibited Activities

Users are strictly prohibited from:

  • Sharing false, misleading, or harmful farming advice
  • Uploading offensive or unrelated content
  • Using the app for illegal activities
  • Listing fake or misrepresented products
  • Manipulating prices or engaging in fraudulent transactions
  • Harassment of other users (buyers or sellers)

We reserve the right to block or delete accounts that violate these rules.


12. 💼 Liability and Disclaimers

Platform Role:

  • Kheti Mantra acts as a facilitator connecting buyers and sellers
  • We do not own, produce, or directly sell the agricultural products listed on the platform
  • Quality and safety of products are primarily the responsibility of sellers

Limited Liability:

  • We are not liable for disputes between buyers and sellers beyond our mediation role
  • We are not responsible for delivery delays caused by third-party logistics, weather, or force majeure
  • We do not guarantee product quality but maintain policies to ensure seller accountability

Advice Disclaimer:

  • Agricultural advice and information provided through the app is for educational purposes
  • While we strive for accuracy, we recommend consulting local agricultural experts for critical decisions
  • We are not liable for crop failures or losses resulting from information used from the app

14. 📌 Changes to Terms

Kheti Mantra Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to update or change these Terms at any time.

  • We will notify users of any major updates through in-app notifications and update logs
  • Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms
  • For significant changes affecting e-commerce, we will provide advance notice

By continuing to use the Kheti Mantra app, including the e-commerce marketplace, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our community-first approach.
